Hey guys... I just want some opinions on regarding the new EPoX 8K3A. I think it's about 200 somthing dollars in canada. I've seen the board in US so hopefully it will land in canada asap. It this board going to be another badass overclocker. I am waiting to see what ABIT has to offer.
Isn't that the KT333 based board? Ahh, I think it'll be good, but not worth the upgrade from the 8KHA+ honestly...
Honestly other then new features such as AGP 8x, the KT400 doesn't seem that impressive either. The extra bandwidth the memory should give would just go to waste cuz the Athlon can't take advantage of that. AMD needs to up their bus speeds otherwise it's all marketing! =(
ok so if they change the bus speed to 166 mhz it will handle the extra memory bandwidth just like we are doing in overclocking. Lower the mutlipler and raise the FSB. Well I thought since the board can handle PC2700 ram which what is the ddr333 stands for it will be a great overclocker since it is design to perform on a high bus speeds. SO can we say 190 to 200 fsb (1:1 ratio)?

vcore 2.5??? I thought it was only up to 2.2 volts... better check that... I am still holding out on what to buy... I am currently leaning towards on a soundcard...

I just want an all-around kinda soundcard... I play games and listen to mp3... I love heavy bass since I like rock tunes <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0>... Yeah, I heard about the pain-in-the-arse via and sb live incompatibility <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif"border=0>... Hmm.. looks like the game theatre is the way to go... BUt it's too damn expensive... What is the bang-for-the-buck value card? except creative card okay <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0>..

ohh.. dude.. too late.. I got a sb audigy OEM. I traded my other 8kha+ for the card. the card is okay though. and BTW: that is some madd stuff u guys were doing. hehe... No, unfortunately the 8K3A+ isn't available yet... As for the T-Bred's, AMD is being very tight lipped so I know as much as you do on this topic... =(<BR><BR>Man, I just wish those damn GF4's would get here... Everyone else on teh web has one already! =(
yeah I know... it sucks... I wish ATI would release their new product. I think they are waiting for nvidia to release their gf4 cards then they will counter with a new card that is cheaper than the gf4... hehe... just like they did with RADEON 8500 and GF3 ti500...
Unfortunately ATI has publically stated that they will not compete with nVidia in terms of the 6 month product cycle. It's understandable why release a new card when it's not needed... <BR><BR>Still it would be nice cuz then hopefully it would drive videocard prices down.<BR><BR>You gonna get a new card soon?
yeah.. i'm thinking... bored with my gf3 ti200. MAybe I should upgrade my monitor. hehehe.. IT's an ACER VIEW 34T UVGA... btw: it's 15' inch.. DO u know a place that I can get a used monitor for cheap? I don't want to dish out a lot of cash on monitor. and ALSO DO U USE LINUX mandrake?

for monitors, as long as I can get 90-120 fps, it will do, the size 17 will do okay. for linux, I am going to explore mandrake. no odd reasons, something to keep me busy. I am hope that the t-bred comes out soon..
How much do you want to spend on a monitor? Even 21" monitors don't weigh that much, my P810 is only like 70 lbs.<BR><BR>As for linux, I use Mandrake 8.32 I think but I'm not very good yet.

i see.. 250 eh? ohh. I am trading my crucial ram for an OCZ ram pc3000 same as u review. I am keeping my corsair pc2400. I am thinking of getting the 8k3a but don't have the ram to run it. so that's why I am trading it..
Don't bother with the PC3000 OCZ... If you can get your hands on a stick of KingMAX DDR333 that's a better deal. The prob wiht the OCZ is that it doesn't like fast memory timings. Even at a 200 MHz FSB, the performance isn't really that great! And that's with the 2 sticks of PC3000 I have! =(<BR><BR>FOr $250 you can get a Samsung 753DF, not the best monitor in the world, but it's a good value...
Just got hte 8K3A+ ourselves, and I'll be playing wiht it this wknd, so I'll let ya know what I think! =)<BR><BR>I'm hoping that the board will let me break 11k in 3DMark with a Geforce3 Ti500! Wish me luck! =)<BR>
so dude Do I keep my crucial then? I have a pending trade with this guy for 30 cad + my crucial 256 = pc3000 ocz. I will eventually gonna get a 8k3a so that's y getting some good ram. DO u think that's a good decision? also goodluck with the 8k3a. Just don't fry teh bo4rd. LOL>.

lol colin, But still you can never beat my streak of 3 fried mobo. hehe. It's a good thing EPOX is kind enough to fix it for meh. Well that's my first time building a rig by myself so it wasnt so bad. SO how did it go? teh EPoX? I got my tax refunds TODAY and I am so damn happy. I don't know what to buy. hehe. I have 200 dollars to spend. I want to get a case because my old case is full of holes that I made because of my dremel. hehe. I'll prolly just going to get an OLD FULL TOWER CASE and mod it. I have lots of fans.......

I got the chip cuz I'm building a budget gaming system for myself to put at the gf's place.
I decided to go with a new case. I am just going to mod it to fit my water cooling etc...
