Well I recently bought a MSI GF4 Ti4600 and it's quite nice. Very fast and such however I noticed that the RAM chips even though they were BGA and should produce less heat would often get hot enough to burn the hand!

I attached some thermaltake ramsinks to the top of the card (the side with the GPU) and those seem to keep the BGA RAM nice and cool, however I only used some smaller ramsinks on the bottom of the card and DAMN! After about 3 hours of RTCW, they also got hot enough to burn! A word of advice to anyone who has or is going to get a Ti4600, attach ramsinks. They do work!

Keep in mind, they didn't let me overclock any higher, I'm still only able to get to about 750 ish in terms of MHz, however they no longer artifacts at that speed.

Gonna take a few pictures and update this probably tomorrow to show ya guys how the card looks.

Ooo... You have the Gainward? That's a sweet card.

I believe it has ramsinks already but it uses a rather large thermal pad.

Please let me know how it overclocks, I'd be very interested! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0>

LOL,,It better have sugar dripping after shelling out $279.00. and yes, it does have the ramsinks and is a tad larger than the Gainward GF3.
I'll do some tweaking on it and letcha know.

Cool dude. I hear most Ti4400's will hit 4600 speeds easily! =)

My Ti4600 is a average oc'er... Core does 325 MHz, memory does around 760.

Ya man it's great. The card is just so fast... =)

Hopefully with Max's TEC cooler for the GF4, I can break 14k in 3dmark! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0>
