Do any body try this MB? I wonder whether it would work with Tbred. I have checked MSI web site and it has no mention for setting lower Vcore voltage.

That's the nForce based board right? I'm sure it will work with teh T-Bred, if it doesn;t already support it, a simple bios flash will solve that.

The latest BIOS from MSI did not support for Tbred. I wonder any body know where I can get updated BIOS for Tbred.

I guess you have that MB right bigchin?

I wouldn't really worry about it, I'm positive once the T-bred is publically available MSI will release a bios that officially supports the T-Bred. It's possible that even without a bios flash your mb can use a t-bred, just not identify it properly.

I am not too concern BIOS recognition. I am more concerned that the BIOS would not set Vcore voltage right and hence cook my CPU (1.75V instead of 1.5V).

If I remember correctly from talking to AMD, a new BIOS would only allow your CPU to be detected properly.

As for voltages, the nForce does support the T-Bred so I wouldn't worry, but I'll ask MSI.

You know there is no jumper to set Vcore, it's set by BIOS. I look at the BIOS and it has no way to set the Vcore down to 1.5V. The defaut value is 1.75V. If I put in the new chip, it might burn it up w/o proper cooling while runs at 1.75V instead of 1.5V. MSI forum was down until July. Now I have no cue whether I should get the Tbred.

Have you actually taken apart the BIOS to look at the voltage settings?

I e-mailed MSI about this, but haven't gotten a response yet sorry...

No word from MSI, but if you take a look at this story from X-Bit labs, it looks like the K7N supports the lower voltage Palomino processors... They use a voltage between 1.0-1.45V.
