View Full Version : getting pc crashes blue screen of death can anyone help!!!

what it is i am not a computer expert far from it to be honest i know basic that is it but, i am having a go as i find using them cool,my computer crashes every now and then well more now than then lol, it says =<BR><BR> An Exception OE has occured at 0028:C15E82A0 in Vxd----- this was called from 0028:C0059A27 in Vxd.<BR> and again<BR> A fatal exception OE has occured at 0028<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">74F6F82.<BR> and again<BR> A fatal exception exception OE has occured at 0028:C004ACE2 in Vxd vfat(01)+00009486.<BR> a few more wich i won't bother about lol, but it would be cool of someone to give us some advice or help you will go on the top of my Xmas card list for shore. my computer specs to what i know are=<BR><BR> 694AS motherboard <BR> getforce2 / 400 64 meg<BR> 1 Gig<BR> Pentium 3<BR> Cd/RW DVD rom combined.<BR> 128 SDRAM<BR> sounblaster live<BR> windows 98SE<BR><BR> it is supposed to have 256 Meg ram so i was told when i bought it but it says i only have 128 RAM on my computer. when i play music videos on my Windows media player it will crash most times with A fatal exception OE. but if i just play music and not with a video it's ok by the way they are downloaded music videos i watch on windows media player.one more thing every time i go to my hotmail account i get the pop up saying illegal operation this will shut down now well if anyone reads this and will help you are doing me a sound favour wich i have no problem in returning in anyway possible so thanks in advance. i have got my wife saying i should,nt of bought it but i love using my computer now i would hate for it to break totaly.<BR>

Hmm... That's a real tough one. First thing about the memory, your computer only detects 128MB when you should have 256? Did you talk to the store where you bought it from? IF you only got 128MB instead of 256, they obviously ripped you off, but if you did get a 256MB stick that's registering as 128MB, that means the memory is bad. It can be the cause of all your errors.<BR><BR>Quick question shez, how many programs do you have loading up at startup? Or better yet, how many system resources do you have free after a clean boot?

Check how much RAM is registered in the BIOS. If it says 128Mb there is some serious ass whooping for the shop concerned. About your computer constantly crashing you should try updating a few drivers to see if you can sort out the problem.
