I built a system a few weeks ago using a P3C-D mobo and a P3 450. Used the cpu terminator b/c I didn't have a 2nd cpu to use yet. Installed everything OS, office, apps etc. Well got my 2nd cpu today and figured I'd throw a curve at XP and install the 2nd cpu without reinstalling anything. Booted up and it found it right away asked to reboot. Rebooted and viola! Never skipped a beat, runs fine!

Sorry for sounding dumb (not a dually person) but does adding a 2nd CPU usually require you to reinstall an OS?

All you had to do was check for new hardware under the device manager. Under the Uni Processor you needed to make it check it, and it would find the new and up and going.

But yea, I heard that it wasnt known yet about XP yet either and was worried myself recently about having to instal again. I was running a 1.2 Tbird in a Tyan 2466 board until I got in my 1.3 Durons. Swapped them out and it did it all. I was very impressed as well.
