Hihi people,
Does anyone have a comparison I can see between the MSI G3 Ti200 128DDR VIVO card, versus the MSI G3 Ti500 64DDR card??

Because I am considering getting the Ti200 cause it has video-in, but the Ti500 is cheaper by like 20 bucks, so I don't really know which to get, I guess it all depends on performance now...

Please help =)
Hey FTO! Long time no talk dude!

Of the 2, I would get the Ti500. The GeForce3 isn't powerful enough at high resolutions where the memory would come into play.

If you're thinking about getting a new videocard though, you should get a Ti4200 or Radeon 8500! They should be cheaper and they;'re more powerful!

Let us know what you get!
In mt opinion you should opt for the cheaper GeForce 3 Ti 200 and overclock it to the same clock speed or even further then the Ti 500. But what ever you do, you won't get it much faster then a Radeon 8500. These are only a bit slower then a Ti4200. Also the Radoen supports a higher version of direct x (8.1)
Hihi everyone,
long time no talk alright, hehe....been enjoying the summer lately, hehe....hmm...
thanks for both of your replies dudes, I am still pondering bout which to buy. I really want a card with video in, but the ti200 clock speeds aren't very impressive. Then again, I could clock it to speeds of a stock Ti500, then it would really smoke it >=)

anyways, thanks for the reply, I will put some great consideration into this....

=)

<<
If you're thinking about getting a new videocard though, you should get a Ti4200 or Radeon 8500! The ti500 is about 188 tax not included. For a 64mb G4 Ti4200 it's about 280, and a radeon 8500 is about 245.....

the prices are somewhat close, but the only one with tv in is the Msi 128ddr Ti200. Also it's the second cheapest =)
The TI500 doesn't come with Video in? It's no big deal in all honesty, the video in on the GF videocards isn't very good.

You could attempt to overclock the Ti200 to Ti500 speeds, but remember, overclocking is luck of the draw and you aren't guarenteed to hit that mark. Also you could always overclock the Ti500 higher!

FTO what's the rest of your system specs?
I know someone who has got their GeForce 3 Ti 300 up to and past Ti500 spec. It is the same hardware the only difference is the clock speed of the processor and the speed of the RAM. But the thing is I would still recommend a Radeon 8500 as that is much better then any GeForce 3. Also if you overclock this it will be much faster on par with a GeForce 4 Ti 4200.
My ti200 goes above and beyond ti500 speeds. It overclocks better than some of those ti500s anyway. I have the gainward golden sample card though.

If I had to do it again, I'd get the radeon though. they have great scores in 3dmark, and the visual quality, while not breathtakingly different, is better than the ti series.

First you say you can overclock it faster than the Ti500 which isn't very likely, then you say it won't be much faster than the Radeon 8500. The GeForce 3 Ti500 is a faster card than the Radeon 8500, an since you said you can overclock it even faster than the Ti500 it would be a significantly faster card. Not that any of this matters because I would take Colins advice and get eh Ti4200.
Paulmac MSI makes a GF3 Ti200 with 128MB of memory... It's totally for marketing, the Ti200 does not need that much memory.

Shiznit at first the GeForce3 Ti500 was faster then the Radeon 8500, but if you compare them now, the Radeon 8500 is clearly faster then the Ti500 in everything.
