I am looking for someone to help me unlock an XP 1800.&nbsp; I want to overclock it but most of the tips that I have received on how to have been sketchy at best.&nbsp; Can anyone help me?<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif" border="0">

Which one do you get, the new Tbred or the old Palo? The unlock scheme is different between these two types.

Usually what I have done to unlock my Athlon XP's is go out and buy some defroster repair kit, some super glue, clear tape, and alot of patience. Take some tape and tape off the L3 bridge right underneath the L1 bridge because you don't want to get anything in them. Now take 2 things of tape and tape off the bridges but leave the gap open in the middle so you can put super glue in there. Once that is filled peel the tape off and even the superglue out ususally with a hobby knife(That's what I used). Now the fun and patient part. Tape the sides of the 1st bridges that look like this - -. The tape will run against the sides of it but do not cover the brides. Run the defog repair liquid across the gap connecting the bridges now making it look like this ---. Make sure the liquid runs to another bridge because you can short the processor. Do this for each bridge til all of them are connected. Now cross check the processor to make sure no 2 side bridges are connected because again this will short the processor. Put it back in and if you have a shim I would surely use it because that will safen the use of the heatsink sitting on the processor and not damaging our already masterpiece of work. Put it all back in and test it out. With a 1700 I got mine up to a 2000+ without adjusting the multiplier. I wish I could show you pictures but I have no idea of how to put them on here. I am sorry let me rephrase a certain thing. I adjusted the multiplier but not the FSB to get to 2000+.
