View Full Version : question about video cards and tvs
Hi I'm planning to buy a video card w/ video out so I can plug my TV into it. I am planning on doing my game playing on the TV so what I want to know is how does the whole resolution thing work on TVs? I'm wondering if it's worth buying a Ti4200 card over a Radeon 8500, since it kicks Radeon's ass at high resolutions, or not? Thanks.

normal tv's
only go up to 800_600 60hz(ntsc) / 50Hz (pal)
the tv should be detected by the vidio cards software
you cant change the Hz on normal tv's

people say that ati have better tvout chips then nvidia
your tv cant display the highest resolutions
Although a TV can only display a max of 800x600 you can always use the TV out on an nvidia graphics card and use dual screen stuff so you can play games on two monitors. I would recommend the Nvidia over the ATi though.
