anyone know whats up with that genius @ tomshardware? on his 4th of july article, it would seem that hes blaming "us" the amd afficionados for the freaking revenue loss of amd (like us hobbyist don't even account for 10% of total chip sales). i read the article like 3 times and it still sounded that way. i dunno, u decide.

p.s: i don't intend this to be an amd vs. intel thread so watch it ;-).

bravo_3 out

That really does sound like he is trying to blame the AMD enthusiast for the companys financial shortcommings this quarter. What I mean is how could it be our fault? That article almost pissed me off. Before that I liked the Toms Hardware site but now I am debating on weather or not I will ever go back there again. It may be the opinion of one wrighter for Toms, but for that article to be allowed into "print", more or less slamming consumers who like the AMD product just doesn't seem right. This guy's machine probably got beat by an Athlon and he is just trying to find someone to blame. I have had some bad experiences with certain company's before but I have never tried to put the blame on to the people who buy the same product. This guy is a 'tard, with way too much time on his hands.

the guy is obviously going under with his hit-ratio. i don't really want to contribute to more hits for his site but he did a rebuttal dated 15th of july and its got the same amount of bull as the 1st article. the fact that he anticipated the flames and everything is a sure-fire indicator that he was just fishing for hits. the sad part is we fell for it. 8-( id rather read ed stroligo's @overclockers.com rants and raves (cause they do make sense) than give tinytomshardware another hit.

bravo3 out

I read that, too. I don't think that's the guy that does the benchmarks and reviews. They have other minions for that. I do agree that AMD enthusiasts tend to ignore what Intel has available, and he's right, that's exactly what the Mac freaks do with PCs. However, I think the guy that writes those does so to be controversial. I've never cared much for those articles, but I've always liked the reviews on hardware because they are very unbiased.

I certainly don't think it makes a difference in sales, though. I'm sure Intel, and everyone else, has their 'die-hard' fans. (Plus, when the Athlons were new, I thought they were so badass that it just made no sense to buy Intel systems. Because of that, I persuaded several people, who don't know what to look for, to buy AMD instead.)

In my opinion, AMD would do best to release the Barton core as soon as possible. I'd love to see them put more pressure on Intel.

"This guy is a 'tard" --Where'd you hear the term "tard"? I thought I was the only one who said that...
