I get the same exact error when overclocking..Generally its when I get up to 1752Mhz then after DMA I get the error with XP. About the repair not coming up..you have to hit r at the 1st DOS type installation menu. Repair has never fixed this problem due to overclocking so if anyone has any idea why I get this error at this speed please tell me how to fix it.

I can't start WinXP (using NTFS partition). In safemode the following error occurs: "Windows could not start b/c the following file is missing or corrupt: WINDOWSSYSTEM32CONFIGSYSTEM". I don't have (did not create) a floopy recovery disk. I tried to repair this by booting w/ the WinXP CDROM and then attempting to repair an existing installation. However, I never get the repair menu - Windows setup says there is another Windows OS, points to the NTFS partition, but never provides the menu to repair the existing installation. Eventually setup warns that continuing will wipe out all user accounts, settings, etc., so that's when I stop. I want to repair my installation, not lose it. Next possible move is use the recovery console, and copy the "system" file from C:WINDOWSREPAIR directory to C:WINDOWSSYSTEM32CONFIG. Does anyone know if this might work? Should I copy all the systems files? Know an easier way for me to fix my WinXP? Thanks.

Okay, I found MS Article Q307545 that addresses my situation, so I'm gonna give it a whirl. Anyone else w/ similar situation that encounters this thread hopefully can benefit also.
