.... uhhh... I'm not sure if your being sarcastic.. or, think I'm someone else. I just don't think you'll get much better quality then that 181T one. It's really just your opinion. You COULD just get both and see which one you like more. Then sell the one you don't like for more then you paid for it

! mfg'r link category date published author
Samsung Monitors 04.11.02 Max Page

lol Max I was talking about the two excellent articles you wrote about the two monitors: http://www.pcstats.com/articleview.cfm?articleID=1037 and http://www.pcstats.com/articleview.cfm?articleID=1046 And thanks for helping me make up my mind, I think I will purchase the 181T. Do you know of any places where they have them in stock, Max? I was thinking of provantage.com, but they always seem to have a really low stock and Ive had a tough time getting in touch with them...dont know their reputation either. Thanks,

Alex

I have to choose between two monitors, both of whom have been reviewed on this site. Both monitors are in pretty short supply, so I need to make the decision quick.

The two monitors I am looking at are the syncmaster 171P and the syncmaster 181T....I can get either of them for slightly less than 1000 dollars.

My original inclination was to go for the 181T because it's 18.1" But Im not so sure. The 171P seems to have a better control panel. Which has a higher picture quality???? Sharper pictures??? ... I will be doing lots of digital photography work (I have some up on my site) as well as watching DVDs. I would really appreciate some input fast... going to get one or the other before the end of the week.
Ur not gonna get much better pic quality then that 18.1 inch one. Get it Unless your really obsessed with a SLIGHTLY improved picture.

hey thanks Max....I really wanted to thank you for those two reviews...really well written. But it made it really hard to decide lol, because you rated the 171P at 92% and the 181T at 82%. So I guess the larger size is more important than the slightly improved picture on the 171P? By the way, thanks for your response! By the way, what were the main differences that you saw between the two monitors, picture quality wise as well as design wise. Thanks!

Alex
Oh, by the way you were talking it seemed like you had found a special deal on these monitors and you only had a short time to get them. Ummm, I don'y really know where you will get em, I just got them from the company, right? I rated the 171P higher cause I liked the control panel more and I don't really care/need a big screen, but for what your doing it seems like you really just want a big screen and the control panel on the 181T isn't that bad, it just looks kinda boring

yes Provantage has a really good deal...........the 181T is 900 dollars flat..............I did have one question though.......is the black version of the 181T the same as the charcoal grey? Do they have exactly the same specs, cause there is a price difference of 80 dollars between them. BTW next day delivery is only 46 dollars, so this site rocks! Thanks for your help,

Alex
