Got the 181T today!

Hey guys I just got the 181T today. I am amazed at how lightweight it is! And the screen offers such vast coverage. However I am disappointed at one thing: the screen colors seem much more faded then my 151P...I guess it's less bright? My 151P had a brightness ratio of 350:1 and this one is 250:1, as is the 171P (wihich must mean that one has faded colors too). I set the brightness to 100 (max) and it didnt really make it a whole lot better. Any suggestions?

i suppose that you're talking about samsung's 181t digital one. i am thinking about buying the 191t myself. for your question of brightness. since i have an older LCD 17" by samsung (770 TFT) i too had the same problem. this 770 only delivers about 100 units of brightness. i was very disapointed when i got it. which is also part of the reasont why i want the new 191t. anywho, i found a way to cranck up the brightness by going into the monitor menu setting (not inside the windows) and increase all Red, Blue and Green so called Gamma. when you increase all the colors together in a way you're increasing the color intensity and also their brightness. thanks to a new computer with a new videocard i have now Geforce4 MX440, which also has an increase on general video brightness. my monitor now looks just fine with perfect looking colors. but that doesn't stop me from getting the 191T. <BR><BR>oh and do me a favor, cause i am only about weeks awway from getting that 191t. keep me updated about that 181T since they're both twin brothers. i wanna know about all the good and bad of it. i hope my message helps. <BR>my e-mail howzz1854@hotmail.com<BR><BR>-howard
