View Full Version : Video Card Problems?
I placed a new Radeon 8500 into a computer I recently purchased. At anytime I am running 3D applications the monitor goes black. When I restart the computer I hear 1 long beep followed by 3 short ones and then the computer shuts off. I know the beep codes tell me I have a video problem, but what could be causing this? Thanks for any help!

Windows 98se
AMD Palamino@1.5GHZ
Radeon 8500
256 MB Ram
ASUS A7N266VM Motherboard
The computer is brand new. It never had a previous video driver.

go in to the the settin for the game and make sure there set for the right video card, i had a similar problem and that fixed it
it sounds like a bad hardware replacement. when you hear this sound and see the screen goes black it usually happens when a. bad memory chip b. bad cpu c. bad video card or d. bad motherboard or slot socket (lets not hope it's your motherboard). in your case, i think it's a bad videocard. try to install it on one of your friend's computer see if the same thing happens.

Make sure you have the video card fully seated in the slot.
