recently i've decided to purchase a new LCD screen and i can't decided whether or not i should buy a computer LCD screen from Samsung's 191T or a LCD multifunction TV monitor from Sharp's LC-20B2UA. the problem or dilema i am encountering right now is that 191T offers many good features like digital/analog input and 250 units of brightness and 500:1 of contrast and it's 19'' ; on the other hand the sharp's 20'' multifunction monitor offers 430 units of brightness, 500:1 contrast, many ways of connectivity (component, RCA video, S-Video). and it sounds better to buy the Sharp cause it's only about $100 or $200 more expensive then the Samsung and it's 1 inch bigger plus you can hook up with TV. my question is is there any downside to use this kind of multifunction monitor (with S-video to your computer) as your computer monitor. i have a Geforce4 mx440 so it has a S-video out.

Oh, yeah, there's a difference in the connection!

You'll only notice a small difference between SVGA and Component input, but I suspect the difference between SVGA and S-Video would be *much* more than the difference in the monitors! I believe S-Video is a NTSC-based standard, so you've got about 500 lines maximum. Check first! If you have DVI on your card, then no contest. If you're only using the monitor on your PC, go with digital. And if you're planning on using it with other devices, then you really have only one choice anyways, don't you!
