Hi there. I am new to this fourm, as you can see.<BR><BR>I got a new laptop for school and i was wondering what tips you guys have for making this thing go faster then everyone elses. any tips and tricks would be great. <BR><BR>It's a celeron 1.3 256 sdram. toshiba 1400 i think.<BR><BR>Anyone ever overclock a laptop? or maybe even underclock to keep it cool?

Ummm ... buy a faster one? <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif" border="0"><BR><BR>actually there is not all that much you can do to make a laptop faster. you could ad some ram ... thats about it though.<BR><BR>what are the specs on your laptop? cant help you much with out the specs.<BR><BR>other then that you can just tweak the hell out of the laptop. <BR><BR>and welcome too <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Even if you could figure out a way to OC your laptop, it would be a bad idea IMHO because of the limited cooling of a laptop.

it is impossible to overclock a laptop due to the companies locking that option in the bios .. same thing goes with prefabbed desktops

Well, theres tons of little tweaks in windows you can do to make it go faster. Try, right clicking on my computer, goto properties, goto the performance tab, and click file system, then from the drag down box select network server. This will optimize windows cache settings... Yes I copied this from PCGAMER... Meh.

Meh.</i> >><br><br><BR><BR>that will only optimize performance when done with several other tweaks .. and honestly about all the tweaks do is speed up boot time. there are some though that will speed your actual system performance up .. but those are usually reg edit tweaks
