I was winderung if any of you guys ever messed with the XP start up. I want to change the "Windows XP" loading screen to something of my own imagination. any ideas?
I am still only using Win 98 SE, But might be similar.
Ok, what you do is;
1. go into your windows directory and look for Logos.sys and Logow.sys (there is another one. Not sure what it's called)
2. open with mspaint and play around, change away. But make sure that the file size is 127k.
Also when you save the file goto save as - make sure the file name is the same.
e.g. Logow.sys - make sure you use " " at the beginning and end when saving
e.g. "Logow.sys"
Hey now that I think about it XP would be completely different.
Think it would use some kind of html format
Search google for a utility called bootloader which changes the start up and shhut down screen and keeps the animation.
I have used BootXP and it worked great. The only time I had problems was when I was making my own .bmp for startup.
