View Full Version : Looking for an OK board now
I don't know if I want to get a nForce chipset board or a Via chipset board w/VC for my dad. I have tight budget and again this is for my dad. I think the nForce board..mainly the Abit nForce board would work fine for him but I want to see what you guys think. I use Abit, never had a problem with them, and I wouldn't mind sticking to them but I wouldn't mind hearing your guys input on this one. Anybody that responds to this I want to think you in advance because you are helping me out alot..I mean helping me make my mind up!!
I take it this is not gonna be some overclocking project but rather a decent system that is just simply gonna be speedy and not crash right?

if you want cheap i would go with a chaintek board .. i have not personally used them yet .. but i have heard they are great. ecs boards are real cheap .. but tend to lack options
I have used ECS before and yes they are cheap but I have never had anybody have a problem with it. Chaintech..I have heard alot of good stuff about them. What about Albatron..any good or should I go with Chaintech?

New nForce boards should be out anytime now with the GeForce4 Graphics core. Once they come out the original nForce boards should much cheaper. Just keep that in mind.
I am not so sure about albatron .. are they a new company? .. i have seen they have vid cards .. but i didnt know they made mobos as well.

is this system going to be for gaming or just like web browseing?
