my hard drives are finally here!! so now all i have to do is figure out what a good block size is.<BR><BR>I have an epox 8k5a2+ and i've entered the "BIOS Setting Utility" and it's asking me what the block size i want for the array.<BR><BR>2M<BR>1M<BR>512K<BR>256K<BR>128K<BR>64K<BR>32K<BR>16K<BR><BR>i'm just using it to increase overall performance. I'll mostly use it for gaming and building programs, and occasionally for photoshop and video editing.<BR><BR>so *cough*JOE*cough* what is a good block size for my array?

depends what size are your harddrives ... bigger the harddrive . the bigger block size you should use ... but on average people use 64k blocks..

I have to 40Gig WD on array 0 with a block size of 512k. I think it runs better than when I had them running at 2M.

I would actually drop it down some more. I will have to look around .. i saw a chart before that had block sizes for the amount of space and drives you had on the array
