Has anyone here tried the Lindows OS yet. I have a Linux box at home and thought about switching over but I haven't heard anything about from any tech sites so I wanted to see what the user says..not the company.

Two things:

1) I see your overclocking your AMD 1700+ to 1.7 Ghz. Do you know (have you tested) whether your system is stable in 3DMark2001SE or Quake 3? The reason I ask is I have a Soyo K7V Plus w/ AMD 1800XP+, but when I overclock (e.g., above 133 mhz) the WinXP Pro system itself is stable, and I can ru napplication software, but it crashes when running 2001SE or Q3, so what's the point.

2) I see your mixing PC2100 and PC 2700 - I didn't think you could do that, and aren't the memory latency, etc, settings different?

Ok, read your earlier post about your 3Dmark score with the R9000, so you can run 3Dmark and overclock. Guess I shouldn't feel too bad, my 3DMark score was 8126 using CPU stock settings (1800+) and a 64MB Radeon 8500 (core/mem = 250/500 mhz). My score goes up to 8430 when R8500 core/mem = 275/550, however, for some reason Q3 ain't too stable.

I have no problem with the PC2100 and PC2700 in my system. I have my latency tuned to 2 and command at 1T...no problems yet. I haven't picked out a PC2700 or PC3000 board yet because I'm waiting for the 2800+ w/333FSB, so I just stuck it in my system.

Colin from this web site wrote a good intro article on PC overclocking the other day in PC Stats news - see Colin's tips.
