Hi,

I'm writing this for a friend who is trying to find out when NVIDIA's nForce2 chipset will be available in North America for non-corporation user (ie. Home users).

He would also like to know roughly how much they will cost.

If anyone knows, or can point me to somewhere I can find out that would be great.

Thanks.

Mobo's with the nForce2 Chipset should be being released any day now. I think there is already one or two out. More are sure to come. As for cost, they boards should cost no more than nForce 1 mobos

My friend thanks you guys for the help, but would like some more information if you can provide it.
He phoned numerous local computer stores, and they do not have any information to the release date of Nforce2, or the price range it will be in, and they do not have any in stock.

Can this motherboard be found in local computer stores? He lives is Canada.
Also, how much $$ was the Nforce1?
And he would like to know where he can find more information on the release date, a site possibly.
He has already tried the nvidia site, but had no luck finding any information.

Thanks a lot

Hey, this is Ali_B's friend that wants the nforce2. Yeah I heard about it almost 4 months ago, and I heard it was supposed to be out in september. Well that's passed, and now I heard from the same guy who told me about nforce2, that it's not coming out anymore! He said it's like for corporations only, and nvidia used it to raise their stocks or something. I really hope they'll release it to a home user, cause I've been waiting a couple months for this. I haven't found any sources saying whether it will be or not.

Hehe, the only way it's not coming out is if you are REALLY in the know there, Ed.

I really haven't heard anything from anyone even remotely suggesting that this NVidia platform is not coming out, and it is not a multiprocessor platform so there really isn't any reason to think that it wouldn't be available/affordable to the general public. What you have suggested is the opposite of everything I have heard and know, it just doesn't seem reasonable. So if you really think you know something then you have a scoop, try to find an independent confirming source and then we can talk $hop You never know, you might be onto something J

Ohh, heh, well, this is just from a friend. He's the one who told me about the Nforce2, so he's really my only source, he's usually pretty reliable, but I think he only heard this from hearsay too, so it's not certain. I've tried finding any information about the release date on the Nvidia website, but I can't seem to find it anywhere. Would you know about when it will be out and how I will know? I think the guys at the computer stores are getting annoyed of me phoning repeatedly, and the nvidia site has no news on it, so I really am left in the dark to these things. Thanks.
