Hey, never done a fresh install of an OS before, but finally gonna get around to installing my XP. So step by step, how do I do it? lol. I mean with whiping it, debugging all that junk. Anyone that could help? Thanks!

Boaz

Go into your BIOS and make sure you have booting from your CD drive enabled.

Stick in the Win XP CD and reset the computer.

Your computer may come up with a boot menu asking wheter you want to boot from the CD or the hard disk, choose the CD.

Follow the onscreen prompts which will include formatting the data on the drive and it will be formatted into NTFS.

Have fun with your fresh install.

and, i'm assuming you have all the data off of the drive that you need? "whiping" it will do just that. if there's anything you need, back it up/burn it, etc.

oh, and if, for some reason, your PC will not boot from the CD-Rom, then you can download the boot disks from here. Assuming, of course, that this is WinXP Pro.

good luck.
