The color contrast doesn't bother me because I'm not goin to have a window kit, so nobody sees anything. Even without a window kid, i'd still never get a yellow/brown/green mobo
Just wondering how hot does your Northbridge heatsink get? I'm currently playing with the MSI K7N2 and while it's an extremely fast and stable motherboard, I find the heatsink on it gets hot enough that I can't leave my finger on it for more then a few seconds.

After pointing a 36 CFM Sunon fan towards the Northbridge it allowed me to overclock about 3 MHz FSB higher! Just wondering if you guys are running into the same heat problems.

Sorry about the attached picture being so grainy... I was using a Digital Mavica which doesn't give the best IQ.

Ahh...that is one beautiful mobo you got there....look exactly like mine. Well as you already know mine comp isn't overclocked, but I have checked to see how hot that heatsink was when I was trying to OC. Mine is warm to the touch, but nothing more. One problem I can see is that if your heatsink was turned 90 degrees, the air coming off the cpu heatsink would run over the northbridge heatsink. That is how my system is set up and it seem to give the northbridge enough air to cool itself with.

I'm sure it would be much bettr if I were using a AX-7 or Swiftech MCX462.

<< Ahh...that is one beautiful mobo you got there....look exactly like mine. >>

Really? I like the combination of red motherboard and red videocard, that looks cool.

I know what you mean. My new VC is blue but my MSI TV Tuner card is Red :-)
That's ok... A blue videocard looks cool, a contrast right?

My gf thinks it's "sexy"!

(Note, my gf doesn't really like computers and she didn't say the above. My girlfriend only knows how to use AOL and IE on a computers. Yet when I take my computer apart, she can name every single piece. She even uses phrases like Mobo and Athlon.....that's so damn sexy!!!

I'm still using the SK6 so there's very little air passing over that heatsink.

I posted some pics of my system. It shows that my CoolerMaster Heatsink blows air over the Northbridge. It is somewhere in the "Other Hardware" threads. Nasty Originated the message.
Ya, I saw... I guess that cooler works pretty well huh? I was thinking about getting one myself for my AMD test system, my SK6 is getting a bit old.

I find my current heatsink to be pretty nice. Works extremely well considering how quiet it is.
yeah my A7n8X northbridge stays very cool for some reason. another thing is that my vantec aero flow HSF is blowing the air down inward towards the sides, so i guess it cools it off too.

-bam!
Damn! Well time for me to get a new AMD heatsink!

Colin,

Can I ask why you just use the heatsink on your chipset, and don't opt for a chipset fan?
I hate how video cards are so large these days. It's like they create a divider between the bottom (and often much cooler half of the case) and the top (and often much hotter half of the case). I ordered my new case last night from newegg. I can't waaaait. I also got some more fans, a system blower, and a GPU cooler for my GeForce 4. Weeeee.

<< Colin,

Can I ask why you just use the heatsink on your chipset, and don't opt for a chipset fan? >>

I would, except I don't have any spare ones at the moment and I haven't got the chance to run by a computer store yet!

roy you'd better have some pictures for us!
I'm working on it. I decided to postpone the digicam buy for all these parts. I still may have enough though... you know once I get it I'll have a thread flooded with pics. Ha.
