I am retired and ready to play;

My new computer, 2 gig, 512, DVD-rw burner,30 and 80 meg hd replaces the my old 800 mhz. The 800 has a 30 and 40 gig drive, 512 memory, CDR burner, DVD player, TNT64 Video with SVHS output operating in Windows 98se.

I am going to use the 800 wireless to connect SVHS to my 32 inch HDTV (Progressive scan) receiver mostly for games. I plan to use the windows wireless keyboard and mouse. I already have a DSL router and an AS-3 Orinoco access point in operation so I have internet access to the 800 as well as network connections to 3 other computers in the house.

Now, I need a recommendation for wireless controller or two for my wife and I.

So much motavation in one, is scary.
Are we talking about a game controller or like a tv remote controller? If you are talking about a Gaming controller keep on reading and if you were talking about like a tv remote controller than I have no clue.

I myself dont have/and has never used a wireless game controller, I've only held one in my hands and wished I had one, but than realized I'd rather just use my keyboard. Anywho, I did a little bit of research and this all depends on where you live (Canada, USA???) and what your budget it? For around $60(cdn dollars) you could get a Logitech WingMan Cordless Rumblepad Gamepad,2.4 GHz,USB. If you'd like to read a little bit more on this you could go to Logitech's webpage or Click Here and that'll lead you to some info on compusmarts site. Oh you might want to check out Bestbuy.com and maybe they'll have some cheaper ones

I hope this helped (and hey, Welcome to the boards!)and if it didn't(possible cause you were meaning some other type of controller) than for all means verbal abuse towards me is ok

Thanks for your comment.

The 2.4 gig hz will keep me away from that controller because 2.4 gig hz and 802.11b (AS-3 access point) wireless frequency are in the same band. Even the phones in that spectrum are hazardous to your wireless signals health.

In answer to your question, yes I am looking for the best wireless (for 2) controllers but hopefully they will operate in the 800 mhz, or a different frequency band, since range is not important. Infrared would be the best.

Oh I wasn't sure if you wanted a game controller or something else so i just gave a suggestion, a path to follow. You may want to check out Gamespots Hardware site at http://gamespot.com/gshw/filters/0,12822,6018806,00.html. It'll save you some time cause instead of searching through sites you can just use there site to get a basic idea of how good it is from there site, they've got a good list of them
