I just bought an Athlon xp 1700 replacing my old duron 1.2 ghz and I wanna see how far I can push it with the pencil trick But I looked at some articles with the pencil trick and the cpu's are different from mine, if you need a picture of it I can "borrow" my brothers webcam for a lil bit, thx.

Just overclock the BUS speed while you are waiting to see how to unlock the multiplyers

Canadian-Guy your CPU looks like this right?

You'll have to connect all 5 L1 bridges to unlcok the processor... Currently it looks something like this : : : : : right? Use your pencil and connect all the bridges so they look like this | | | | | . That will unlock the multiplier for you.

Actually which motherboard are you going to use to overclock? Looking at your sig, the K7S5A does not support multiplier adjustments so your only options are to raise the FSB as Iceman suggeested.

My old AHLCA based Duron 1 GHz (review here) did 1.44 GHz on air and a voltage of 1.85V! Good luck overclocking yours!
