Hello,

I have a PNY GeForce 3 Ti200 (128MB RAM) AGP card in my system using a WinXP driver and a PNY GeForce 4 MX400 (64MB RAM) in my other system (which is now my kids). When I installed WinXP Pro on my system, I get a message that my GF3 may not work with XP. The MX400 came with an XP driver on the install CD. Is there much performance difference between these two cards? I know that one has twice the memory, but the less memory card has a new graphics processer unit. I am thinking of switching the two cards between the systems until I can afford a new card (like the ATI 9700Pro).

Thanks!

H.

I don't have any proof to back me up, but I think the GeForce 3 will perform better so you should stick with that. It will run perfectly fine with Windows XP. You can download the latest drives from nVidia.com.

Hey Hansaman... The GeForce3 Ti200 is not just faster, it's also based on newer technolgoy. Most definitely do not switch cards with your kid's system... Just go to nVIDIA's website to download the latest WHQL drivers and your Ti200 will work just fine in XP.

I did download the most current WHQL driver for my card (during the reconfiguration of my system this weekend). I just wanted some input about the two cards and any problems running it under WinXP (as I did receive a message about incompatibility). BTW - I was checking over some information about updating the drivers to my USB2.0 card and found that I would get an incompatibility message for it to but to ignore it. I am sure that there is a lot of hardware out there that is WinXP capable but just has not been updated in MS files.

I will keep my current card (until I can afford the ATI).

Thanks!

H.
