Nforce2 driver

[BAM!]

does anyone here own a NForce2 board? have you updated the new NForce 2 all in one driver? even better does anyone have a A7N8X board? i updated the Nforce2 driver from Asus's website version 1.16 (Nforce2 driver on Nvidia website is not compatible with A7N8X) and noticed some difference in sound. just don't know which one is suppose to be the most correct, sound wise. example, i've noticed that the new 1.16 version of driver changed the MP3 playback from only two front channels to 4 channels (fron and back). and some little difference in gaming too. i am using a digital output on four speakers and a sub in case you're wondering. <BR><BR>i am a big sound/image anal freak. so everything has to sound right and look right to me. i just wanna know which version of driver sounds the most correct. <BR><BR>any inputs will be appreciated. <BR><BR>-bam!

I have an nForce 2 mobo but I can't help you with your problem because I have not upgraded my drivers yet, and if I did I only use 2.1 speakers so I don't have anything behind me to hear...sorry.

lol. thanks, it's actually one of my graphic design works i did a while ago. it's a redesign of the neverwinter night girl. never really played the game. just thought she's a good lookin girl. went into the bestbuy one day with my friend and saw the official poster and didn't exactly like it, so i figure maybe i'll deisgn one my own. anyways... <BR><BR>-bam!

Well I have that Mb and when I put In the #2 driver i had sound ,vid , and networking issues . My internet connection would drop after undetermine amount of time on all Pc's accept for one . I was useing the Nvidea nic port not the 3com . HAvent really played with it yet .

BAM.....clock on the "profile" link at the top of this page and create your own profile. It will give you an area where you create a signature to add to the bottom of every post.

Please note, you have a <b>500</b> character limit, not 255 like it says.<BR><BR>IOU are there such things as beta nForce2 drivers? That's pretty strange that when you're using the newer drivers you get all types of problems! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0">

Turn off the Anti-Virus when you install. They tend to not be very fond of programs changing drivers.

and make sure that you're not using the version 2 driver from Nvidia's website if you have exactly the same board as i do. if you install the version 2 from nvidia and you have exact the same mobo as i do you'll have big problems. the 1.16 version from asus' website was the new driver i was talking about. although i decided to stick with the origial version of driver. don't see any big difference. the only thing noticible is the older one's Nforce sound icon at the system tray will disappear sometimes. plus i like the sound better on the origial one. <BR><BR>let me know what happens<BR><BR>-bam!<BR><BR>PS thanks colin and shiznit.... you two are like brothers. answer at the same time with the same answer and argue all the time.
