Do you realize the team in 100th possition has folded just over 14,000 WU's???? We have 27. We all need to build 100 more rigs if we want a shot! Top 1000 is something we may get in the next few months <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Howard BAM! basically Folding@Home computes data for Stanford and other medical organizations. Hopefully with the data they can cure the world's diseases and cancers... <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"><BR><BR>One cool feature of F@H is the team concept... We can compete with teams around the world to see who folds the most and such. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> Don't worry about it affecting your performance it only uses your spare CPU cycles...<BR><BR>Hehe... this thing is tite.. i just downloaded the folding at home (i actually think that i am gonna save someone's life). so what's WU stands for? does it just send the result to stanford database when it reaches 200? and does it redownload another task when this one's done?... this thing is cool...lol.... i like workin in teams !... glad that i could be part of this. <BR><BR>-bam!!!

A WU is a completely folded Protein. It downloads to the standford server automatically and starts a next one. At the top of the hour after you finish your second WU, it will post the results for your first WU, and so on.

Look at the facts...your P4 2.4 vs my Athlon XP 2400....I seem to be edging you out by quite a bit considering you posted your first WU before and I've restarted twice.

you can put Intels fastest in there, and it would still be a very close race.

Honestly from what I hear F@H is FPU intensive so that wouldn't surprise me... The P4 has a horrible FPU. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0">

You don't have to make excuses for your processor. We all know it is speedy in benchmarks, but when it comes to real world work, it processes about as fast as a one legged duck swims.
