WinXP Login Problem

I have WinXP Pro. The system appears to boot up okay and I get the splash screen which shows my user name. However, when I try to click for a box to enter my password, nothing happens, there is no box that comes up for the password. So I'm stuck and can't enter the OS. Anybody have any ideas about fixing this problem? Thanks!

when booting hit the f8 key a few times and it will come up with a prompt on how to boot .. boot in safe mode and create a new user login and see if that helps you any. or try to edit your current login information. <BR><BR>or just turn off all the user switching and just let it boot straight into windows
