Ok i am trying to play a game (Project IGI: Im going IN, they should have just named the game Project IGA: Im Going Shopping) and it doesnt want to seem to work. I click on the icon and I get this error:
fatal error:
Couldn't create DirectDraw object
DirectX error messageDERR_CANTCREATEDC
ok this error has only appeared since I put my Radeon 900064mb video card, that was a loong time ago. I cannot figure this error out, I tried updating my video card drivers and still nothing. anyone?

This is a very old post, but i'm gonna post this reply for reference. I've just bought an Sapphire ATi Radeon 9550 (overclocked as a 9600) and it would'nt play IGI and came up with exactly the same error. The Eidos website has a page about this and basically all it tells you is that the error is uncorrectable if you have a Radeon card. However, it does say that the error stems from cards which have dual monitor support etc, and if you can turn this off (providing of course you don't need the dual monitor facility) you may get the game to run. If you check Device Manager, under Display Adapters, and it shows two entries, i just discovered on my system at any rate, that if you do properties on the secondary display and disable it, IGI will play. This was of great satisfaction to me as i love the game and wanted to play it on my new system. No one may ever read this, but if an IGI lover with the same problem stumbles across this, i hope the solution works for you ! :)

I have a friend with the exact same problem and error message, albeit a different video card.
Hopefully this will help him out.
Thanks for posting !!
