I got an old p2 i would like to take a peek inside but aparently this thing was made to withstand nucular blasts. I would like to get it apart so i can get it back together. ITs plastic on the front with metal on the back that the heatsink is stuck to.
CaffeinatedSoap is your P2 retail? If it is, it'll be almost impossible to remove... If it's OEM, I assume you already took the heatsink off right? The aluminum heat spreader is glued on to the core and cache SRAM chips... What I would do is get a can of compressed air and freeze it, the glue should be brittle enough to pry off wiht a screw driver then...
if its retail there is four pins that need removed if i remember correctly. been a while since i had a retail p2.

ya thats right its got for metal pins holding the aluminum on.
i think you have to actually drill them out and then after that just use a oem heatsink and fan on it because the casing will no longer be any good .. unless you mount it with bolts ... i could be wrong on this though so colin should be able to tell you if that is the way to take them apart.

just curious .. why do you want to take it off anyways?
