Just was checking out pricewatch and they are sellling Barton's already. Only seems to be a 3000+ config tho, operating @2.16Ghz. That is the operating speed of a 2700+ T-bred if I'm not mistaken, looks like we can expect some huge overclocks out of them. Funny thing is, they won't ship them out till Feb 21st.
And on a side note, they are exactly $7 US more expensive than a P4 3.06Ghz (I've never seen that before)
Seems that there might be some 3000+ T-breds floating about, either that or the seller doesn't know what he has...

The Barton can be found on Pricewatch, but they are for pre-orders. AMD will not launch the processor until February 10th, and then it usually takes at least a couple weeks before even the best supplied hardware resellers get ahold of them.

It's nice to see he got such a nice overclock (400Mhz) off such an early CPU. Even better than that is he used the Heat Pipe Coolermaster HS....hmmmm. Hopefully his good fortune will come my was as well. I would definetly disable CPU throttling...LET THAT BABY BURN!!!!!

For the first review, it gave quite a bit of information. I kind of expected it to be a good overclocker because AMD is getting pretty good at manufacturing these T-Bred B's, and that's basically what this CPU is, except it's at a much lower speed. That's what gives you the extra head room. I'm definetly going to be picking one of these bad boys up in the near future.

Yep, AMD is really getting good at the .13 process and their quality has shot up with the T-Bred B, so here is hoping for some major barton ocs, and of course...SOME Opteron ocs...at least 100mhz...would kick hte itaniums ass!
shiznit, you are amd all hte way, where is the best place to get opteron specs...more than what amds website has...i'm wondering what sort of speed and l3 chache they'll ship with, plus boards and chiops sets. are they gonna pull an intel gstapo on us and not let anyone else create a 64 bit chipset?

There is no good place to get Opteron specs. AMD has kept them in a secure vault. You can find little pieces all over the web. It looks like the best sites for info are the German ones, so I'm assed out as I only speak english and some spanish. Your just going to have to wait until it is released in April to get all the info you need.

lol...well i can speak limited german, but spanish and english are ok...so i'm screwed. damn amd and their tight assed security. not even theproject managers can give me any info...(no doubt they knwo i'd tell everyone), howevre the AMD guy said i could expect 2 opterons in a grid to way outperform their rival...the itanium. and being roughly 1/2 hte price...that should be awesome.
