What works best?

Running a SMP platform will the second processor fold non stop while the first is doing mundane apps? Is the F@H client even designed for SMP systems? And lastly, Xeon 533Mhz or Athlon MP? <BR>And a question for Colin, why aren't there and P4 dual systems?<BR>And then there was Opteron, how much extra can the Opteron give over a regular 32 bit processor?

Honestly zaltec having a SMP setup is pretty much useless for the average person. I don't think F@H is dual processor capable. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0"><BR><BR>As for Xeon 533 VS AthlonMP that depends, the Athlon's have a more powerful FPU so they would be better in F@H but again not worth the $$$. <BR><BR>zaltec, Intel is quite "greedy" or smart... They don't allow P4's to run in dual configuration because P4's will steal sales from the much more expensive Xeon line of processors! As for Opteron I dunno...
