BAM!

ok guys... i got my antec truepower 480 watts last night. and soon as i put it in i upped my clocked even more and did a whole series of tests and stability exams whole night. thanks to colin's suggestion about the prime95. it is a great program. it detected calculation error right away when i clocked it to 2.2 Ghz with 1.8 vcore. then i upped the vcore to 1.85 then everything is fine. i ran the prim95 for about an hour (many might suggest at least 48 hours... oh well.. ain't got that kinda time in hand!!) and it went smoothly like a baby!!... i could upp it even more to 2.26 but with the maximum safe vcore voltage of 1.85, it won't get me anywhere... the computer will run and so will the games... but there'll be precision errors. prime95 would report an calculation error within 5 mins. so i guess it ain't worth it to sacrafice stability for speed, especially F@H will definitely drop a WU. so now i've been folding since 1am this mornign and it's been very smooth. the temp stays around 38c offload and 46c full load. that's very good consider i have the vcore up to 1.85 (default vcore: 1.6)

just feel like lettin you know!

Hmm... You should be able to do better then that, I think you need better cooling now!

Still, awesome oc dude!

hmm, I think you can go higher aswell, you probably saw my oc's onother threads, but I have mine running @ 2,27 and 1.8 voltage with 58 load temp, volcano9 HSF. (I wanna get the slk-800 and the 8RDA+ board. Soyo makes a nice board, but with the KT400 chip, they just failed to deliver the powerl

To be honest I think you guys both can do better... Your AIUHB stepping is better then my AIUAB so you should be able to hit as least the same as me.

colin, i think this is the highest i can go with plane multiplyer tweek. the processor itself just doesn't perform any better once pass 16x multiplyer @ 2600+. the benchmarks just don't go any higher. i might try and might be able to clocke it higher with some performance increse if i get some good rams. as i said .. my samsung pc2100 rams right now doesn't seem to like higher frequencies.

Ahh... If your FSB is too low, that may be holding your entire system back. Try running your memory slower then the FSB, you got enoguh bandwidth with dual channel DDR!

Whadd'ya mean unload my Soyo on Ebay, it's a damn fine board...I gotta unlocked 1500+ to put in that baby...crank it a bit. It won't be limited with that processor
I can pick up the Epox for $112 + shipping, which never is much in the States, and then I need the Thermalright SLK-800, so that would be a few more dollars...not too bad, maybe this week maybe next.

No doubt! I need to get a PSu aswell, bout time I upgraded it I'm gonna look at PC power & Cooling.
Now I wanna ask about modding...who is teh guy to ask?

zaltec PC Power & Cooling makes some awesome PSU's, but they're damn expensive! But they're the best you can get.

As for modding, IOU is awesome at it maybe you shoudl ask him!
