Alright, so today i was determined to see what was up with my awful 3DMark01SE scores (5000's).
Before I explain all this I'll give you my specs to better understand it.
Asus A7N8X Deluxe with AMD Athlon XP (Palomino) 2100+
512MB of Samsung PC3200 RAM
GeForce 4 Ti 4400
When I first ran the test at stock speeds I got somewhere in the 5000's which I was told is a nasty score for that system.
Today, I ran it again after turning off AA and V-Sync and got a score of 10134.
This is all at stock. The videocard running at 274.5/553.5
Then I raised the speeds on the card to 300.4/594.4 and got a score of 10498.
Then I raised the FSB to 139 and got a score of 10755.
How are those scores doing for those speeds?

I'm not a big OC fan, I just wanted to see the differences that a couple adjustments would make.
I wanted to ask you guys who have the same Motherboard or Videocard as I what your speeds are. Or, if you have knowledge of these boards, what their general max is. I'm reluctant to overclock my FSB too much because it's on passive cooling and it doesn't seem safe. I put on a TT cooler on the card and there is alot of cooling available to it so I'm not too worried about that.

What really confused me is that my CPU is running at about 100mhz faster yet it dropped 1 degree Celcius in temperature (now running at 47idle).
Also, is the BIOS reading on the Asus board reliable? It shows a signicantly lower temperature, which would make me happier. I am using the BIOS that came with the board and did not upgrade. Speaking of BIOS temps, I read somewhere that your CPU during BIOS is naturally stressed as opposed to when you're in Windows because Windows sends commands to keep it cool whilst it's idle, hence the System Idle Process.

Another thing I must ask you... I was in an IRC chat room last night and I was talking to some other fellas. One of them said that the Asus board I have and the Epox 8RDA+ have PCI and AGP locks so they're not tied to the FSB, allowing for easier FSB OC'ing. I am kind've skeptical because he also said those boards short out some pins on the AMD chips which makes it unlocked by default, and it seems to me like that's completely false.

roy AA/AF will kill your 3dmark scores.... nVIDIA enables them by default with the drivers.

Going from 10.1k to 10.8k with those small oc's is pretty good. YOu can hit a lot higher though if you overclock more.

The maximum FSB I could get from my A7N8X (non deluxe model though) was around 200 MHz FSB. I know DeanLowe can do 200 Mhz easy on his A7N8X deluxe.

As for processor, that depends on what stepping you have. If it's an AGOIA I can see you hitting 1.8-1.9 GHz on good air cooling.

Thoroughbred AthlonXP's are unlocked by default on most nForce2 motherboards and yes they do have AGP/PCI locking!
