Hmm... That score still seems low bluegreenshxt. Do you have AA and or AF enabled?

Give us a Compare URL.

Colin,

I put my FSB up to 160 and dropped my RAM down to like 322 and I reran 3DMark03 and I got 4809. So earlier was my problem the RAM that was stopping me from going higher. My Processor is now at 2.88GHZ but my ram is slower than 333. What is better, higher FSB or RAM speed? Or a combination maybe 157, 393RAM or 160FSB and 322RAM? Is there anything I can do to speed up my RAM? It's Kingmax stuff which is supposed to be good stuff....My vcore 1.625.

Thanks

Cayman3DMark03 Score!

FSB is always better, the more the merrier!

Cayman in general the higher the FSB the better, however because P4's are memory bandwidth limited in your case I would say 157 MHz FSB/393 MHz Memory would give you the best overall results.

As for speeding up your memory, try using slower timings or raising the memory voltage.

You'll find though that 3DMark03 is all videocard limited, overclocking yoru CPU/FSB and memory does not really net you any real increase... You'll need to clock your videocard higher to get a good 3dmark03 score.

Thanks,

I'll drop my FSB down to 157 and bump my RAM backup. I have the ATI brand of 9700Pro not the All in wonder so I should be able to overclock good....

Cayman

Can overclocking my video card hurt it? Shorten the life? Don't want to waste my $500 CDN...can't afford to get a new one.

Cayman

Speed kills . So does heat . Prolonged heat will damage your card but im sure if you offered it more cool air it would last longer . I would not recomend running it OC'd for great lengths of time .

Cayman, when you overclock, you're running a part faster then it's suppose to run so there's more stress... Yes there's a chance you could kill your videocard, but it's unlikely.

As long as you have adequate cooling you'll be fine.

from what i can see...the vertex shader gets a 30% increase from before..the 3.2s are really good...

bluegreenshxt that's a very good score for a 8500! HEy, I don't see a PCStats 3DMark team in your discription!

I got a nice boost too, both in 3DMark03 and 2001.
