pls HELP!! very important

my computer is freezing at the window 98 screen, so i cant even get into windows. i need some help on how to get into dos or safe mode or anything where i can fix it.<BR>it started doing this when i installed ie6 and then restarted my comp, it then got into windows then froze when it was up dating the configuration. <BR>pls respond asap
