Hello,

I have a friend that keeps getting e-mails (unsolicited) from some clown who accuses her of sending him "suggestive" e-mails or e-mails containing "suggestive" messages. She is getting quite P.O'd. Anyone know of any inexpensive software out there that will allow my friend to track these e-mails and even identify the IP or source of the e-mails?

Thanks!

H.

There is a program alled VisualRoute, it tells you the IP address and even gives you a nice map telling you to the nearest phone exchange where the e-mails are coming from. Are you sure the emails aren't just spam from some dodgy website?

Iceman, thanks!

My friend appreciates the information. Definitely not spam. Seems this clown was involved in some kind of stalking incident in the past.

Polykranopalous, you only get two spam e-mails a day? I have a hotmail account and I get 5-10 spams a day (just in the junk mail folder). I just do a lot of deleting. It is not my main account.
This is more of a source code thing colin but if your email is listed on the pcstats page as blah@domain.tld contact your webmaster and see if he can change the email outputting routine to use the ASCII equivalent of @ instead of just @. Although a lot of website spiders are smart enough to recognize this method for formatting emails, it should deter some of them from picking your email up out of the source.
