3dmark update.

I think i am gonna try pulling everything out of my system tonight that i dont need just to see what the max i can get of 3dmark is
another 3dm2k3 update

Wow, I like those 3dMark03 scores especially for the 2400+, how much more can you get once you yank everything out? Or is the second score with everything out?

How's the HyperX memory? And more importantly how is your Audigy2? Mine arrives tomorrow.
no i still have everything in the system .. those last two scores where from overclocking the vid card and tweaking the ram

the hyperx is great ... and so is the audigy 2 platinum
Nice scores Pimpin Joe! Very impressive, you are part of the PCStats 3DMark team right?
ummm .... sure ... lol
wow pimpin...!!! that's some impressive PCmark score!!!>.. did you overclock that 2400+ at all???... what's your FSB?
the 2400+ is at 2.09ghz (not much of a oc) but its running at 166mhz fsb

the ram is running at 416mhz fsb @ cas2 2-2-2
that's a great score for CPU man!!!>... i get about 6570 points for cpu and mine's a 2100+ clocked at 2.16 Ghz. altho my memory is only clocked at 166Mhz fsb and it's 4800 points.. i guess that's pretty good for what it's clocked at.
Haha... You guys should be doing better then that! Come on, I know I expect more out of you guys... Make me proud!
hey give me a break .. i got alot of hardware in my system that pulls a little on performance. one of these days when i am not feeling so lazy i will pull everything i dont need out and give some hell on benchmarks
just squeezed out a couple extra 3dmarks

colin i can hit 2.3 or maybe even 2.4 but then i'll be sacraficing calculation precision!!. the highest that my system can go without sacraficing any calculation precision is 2.23 which is about 2800+. recyle on the other hand probably can squeeze out 2.3 without any calculation errors.
Pimpin Joe I'd expect 5k out of you! You overclocking yoru videocard yet?

Howard BAM! that's odd dude. To be honest I'm not sure what could be holding you back!
yep the vid card was overclocked. ... i am still trying to figure out how to squeeze a few more points ouf of the system. i pulled my tuner card out earlier .. gainef a few point with that off. gonna turn off hte burner and extra hdd ..... dont think that will help much ... but you never know lol.

my 9700pro sucks at overclocking ... i am gonna invest in some better cooling for it soon to see what i can crank out of it .. am also looking at getting a barton cpu ... not sure which ... possibly the 3000+ ... depending on the upcoming cash flow in the next few days when i put up some parts for sale.

well i got 2.392Ghz... 11.5x208 (I know my motherboard is my limiter) I got my memory to run up to 219 @ 7-2-2-2-T1 If you look at the picture in my sig you can kinda tell my set up... I'm working on getting a digital camra right now. I think i'm going to borrow my girlfriend's mom's camra. I have a MCA5000-A and a 120x240 radiator with 2x 150CFM delta on it with a 400GPH pond pump running it all with a 3 gallon tank(soon to be chilled). Luckly i have made a home made baybus and the deltas are still very good around 5v-7v. I'm about to vdd mod my motherboard and remove the 1.9 vcore overvolting limiter off my 8rda+. If you want information on the mod just ask i'll start a new post about them. Still saving up for a 9700pro... I wish i was out of high school and had a real job makin atleast 50-60K a year. also i'm looking to start my own website if you want to check out the layout soo far check it out at http://www.recme.net/recshardware/
oh yeah.. i forgot to mention.. during the time you were sick in bed colin. i got my corsair memory. i am now able to increase my FSB. so now i am using 13x166 which makes it a 2700+. and i can go up to 12x171 FSB(2.23Ghz) with rock solid stability if it wasn't for that cold boot problem that some of us haev with A7N8X.
Pimpin Joe what is your card clocked at?

recycle, it wouldn't surprise me if it in fact was your motherboard holding you back. Cooling the MOSFET's, Northbridge and Southbridge is suppose to help a lot! The layout of your site is very nice. Keep it up!

Howard BAM!, I'm glad your can no overclock your FSB. Ahh, I see you made changes to your siggy. Which cold boot problem are you talking about? Is it limited only to the A7N8X?
aparently some portion of A7N8X owners out there have this cold boot problem with certain FSB freqency. ie: i can do 171FSB with rock stabilit (pass prime95, and F@H), and it restarts fine. it just when it comes to cold boot. it won't post, it'll give me an "system failed memory test" (it's not like it's the first time i've heard that), which doesn't tell me much where the problem is. so when that happens i'll have to hold down the power botton to turn it off and turn it back on again (it'll then post as athlonxp1500+) then i have to go into bios and save the settings all again and then boot up. some people on different forums suspect it's a bios problem which has something to do with memory stability. so far i still have no luck finding the exact cause of the problem and a fix. i just hope maybe asus can post out another bios update to fix this.

although, i am happy now that i am running on a 333 FSB.
i've also tried to run the FSB at 166, 165, 164 or any where below 171 still the same problem only when i set it to 167fsb it'll post as 165 when it boots up at the memory test screen and no coldboot problems.
Wow... I was not aware of those problems! I'm gonna play with my regular A7N8X to see if I can figure out a way to fix that...

Is Asus aware of this problem? Honestly it does sound like some sort of BIOS problem, hopefully it'll be fixed with a new BIOS revision...
colin i just want to confirm with you on something. even tho i know i have a 1.002 version of bios. there are lots of version of 1.002 out there like 1.002.001 ...etc. i am hoping the one i got is the 1.002 final. so during boot up at your boot up system info screen. does yours say something like "award phenix bios revision 1.002"? cause that's what mine said. i was worried that no where it says final or 1.002xxxx
also is there anyway in windows it can tell you exactly what your bios version is?. like sisoft?

Ok, ok....you guys talking about your bad ass systems is just going to force me to upgrade. Man my wife is gonna hate you guys. Lol!
GNXtreme.... no.. you dont' have to upgrade... your system is still great!!!. a 1.67Ghz athlon is still very powerfulll right now, not to mention that pc2700 ram. i certainly don't wanna get you divorced!!! i've seen that happen. a online friend of mine got divorced with his wife for that!!! we don't wanna stir up another marriage tragedy here. !!!

but seriously... you're system is still very powerfull. no need to upgrade.
dont listen to howard bam GNX. UPGRADE! UPGRADE! UPGRADE! lol lol ..... j/k your system is more then powerful enough to play all games. theres no need to upgrade.
Haha!!! GNXtreme upgrade! It's never fast enough!

On the serious note though your system is fast enough to handle anything and we wouldn't want your wife to hate us now...
