I've been using Nero now for the past couple months and I'm not satisfied with it's performance. After I copy a cd I need to restart my pc if I want to copy another one. Anyone recommend a more efficient burning software?

Well, that shouldn't happen... What burner are you using?

I/O Magic 48x16x48x model # DR-CDRW4848... I originally thought it was my mom's pc, but I recently built my own and installed the CD-RW myself with the new Nero cd it provided. So it's not one, but 2 pcs it's happening on.

Okay, I use nero myself and without any problem. Does it restart by itself or does it just not work until you do?

What OS are you using as well?

Oh be nice betenoire... Meanwhile, think about this:

I hope you don't have the option to shutdown you computer after finishing a burn. And maybe your comp has one of those weird problems where it doesn't shutdown, but restarts.

Try upgrading to the latest version, 551015a or something like that. And try again. It shouldn't do that, but if you insist on other programs try:

Alcohol 120%
Blindwrite
CDRwin
Clone CD
Discjuggler
Easy CD Creator (only use as last resort)
Fireburner
NTI CD Maker

My favorites are Blindwrite, Nero, and Clone CD.

I have to restart it myself after I burn a cd if I want to burn another. If I attempt to burn one after the other then the system hangs. If it's just the one cd I want to burn then I'm cool, I can continue running applications, etc as normal. I'm on 2000 Professional. Yeah, the option to shut down after the burn is there, but not checked.

Before I move on to something else I want to make sure this is something that can be resolved and isn't a Nero problem.

Are you using the most recent version of Nero.

I'm not sure. I bought the burner last month, brand new, and that was the installation cd. I'll check and get back on here with that info.

It is more than likely your software version, but if not, it certainly doesn't hurt to check.
