well see I think mines the greatest, and overall its more original...I took the side panel off my case and started punching it to give it a great dented look...

I'd have to say the ultimate mod is to build your own case. Ive thought about building a wooden one with popsicle sticks

OMG that would kick ass

I still am thinking about the popsicle stick idea. I also have ideas on a stealth system I've been thinking about. Too bad stealth and popsicle sticks don't really mix well or I'd have on hell of a system.

hahah..i am thinkin of that too..LOL...so far..i found a mobo tray to begin with...i havent decided what to use tho..wood or get some aluminum from home depot for the case it self...

My idea so far consisted of getting a mobo tray from Coolermaster. I'd just say I ruined the one I got, so they would send me a replacement. Other than that the whole case would be made from popsicle sticks and glue. When it was don't I'd give it a clear coat paint job and that'd be that. Beige drives would actually look nice in an wooden case

Myself being kind of a cheaper modder, I think getting a bunch of people to graffiti a case with gang tags would be interesting to see.

I know a couple of places where I could leave a case out on the curb overnight and the next morning it'd be all grafittied up for ya.
I'd say the greatest case would be disegno di pininfarina
Hey Shiznit, you could get some wood stainer and give your case a nice finish and polish.
I think a great computer could be built in a closet. I don't know how you would do it, but you could get all kinds of parts and make a supercomputer. I know of someone who gets cheap computer parts of eBay, builds a whole lot of crappy computers, and "nodes" them together and runs biotech algorithms (kinda like F@H). Any idea how he links the computing power of all the computers?

<< Hey Shiznit, you could get some wood stainer and give your case a nice finish and polish. >>

I thought about stain too. The only problem is I'd be glueing the case together with something like elmers glue because it'll do the job, and I don't want the stain to eat it, or desolve it in anyway.

A clear coat on virgin would would probably peel if I didn't prime it, and I don't want a white case.

I built a test case today really fast and then put it in my fireplace and torched it. After seeing how fast that ***** burned, I am no longer looking to build a wooden computer case....big time fire hazard. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

LOL playing with fire is fun. By the way I'm getting a new case for my birthday and i was wondering what i should look for like where the most effecient fan holes are best prices, reliable.

I have thought of many different mods, and all wouldnt be hard to do. Im actually thinking of building my own plexy glass case... than tehres the Lazy-Boy chair Idea...
See you could put all the hardware inside the chair (underneath where u sit) and than put the cd roms, floppy etc they would be so it would open from the side of the chair...

Building a plexy case would be a pain in the ass. Just because you have to make all your cuts, and glue everything together perfectly. Then you set up your beautiful case and in a week or two it's so full of dust, it just looks nasty Too much work for me. The chair idea sounds interesting though.

ya i do realize that the plexy glass case would be full of dust and it would be difficult to put together - first I thought about using screws cause I found a site that said how to do it... but i dont know about it now, it couldnt hurt would only be like wasting 20bucks

I like the chair idea then u could play Unreal II while watching Office Space
A carbon fiber or Technora/Kevlar case would be a good idea. Carbon would be the better...very strong, very light and heat resistant. They only drawback would be it would have to come pre modded as you cannot cut carbon fiber that has been extruded and moulded without compromising the strength. Well high tensile carbon anyway...some of the cheap sheets of leftovers can be cut to your liking.
<< Technora/Kevlar case >>

hmmm well if u live in the gang/bad areas and you got a high-end pc you'd probably want to invest in that
Umm, if you are thinking bullet proof Poly then you are wrong. There is no bullet proof material, it's all about denier, anything over 1000 denier is considered ballistic material. And that layered will stop bullets, but it takes around 1.5 inches of kevlar and ballistic nylon to make bullet proof vests. 2mm Kevlar does not stop bullets, merely dropping a solid sheet of it wil break it up. But...were you to create stress points in the kevlar case...then you have a 45-48% chance of it being bullet proof at a 0.5 inch thickness
Avid6eek

Well if your assuming that this bullet must come through the 6" outer wall of your house, i'd say .25-.5" of Kevlar would be more than enough.

i have an idea, make a case out of a bird cage

I think that the ultimate mod would be to build your own case out of raw materials....wether it may be wood, metal, plexi...whatever you decide to use...just to make something out of basically nothing would be awesome...

If I had my own apartment I'd use water cooling, but w/o the radiator/fan/pump. I would just hook the water blocks up to a hose that ran from a sink. That way there would be no noise as the sink would be in the other room, and there would be a constant supply of cool(summer)/cold(winter) water cooling the system. High overclocks, and no fans!

That is a pretty good idea...If I were you thou I would include a fire extinguisher....lol...j/k mang I had to!

<< That is a pretty good idea...If I were you thou I would include a fire extinguisher....lol...j/k mang I had to! >>

I thought about that, but you have to figure that if a fire broke out, the water tubes would melt, and the constant supply of water would most likely put out the fire
