What is a cool case I should get... I've only got like around $60-$70 canadian dollars for the case, its not much but there gotta be a cool case for that amount rite? please post a link to it

*thought this would be the best place to ask this question

Poly...I'm gonna edit what you should get...

$88 Epox EP-8RDA (nForce2)
$77 AMD Athlon XP 2100+ (T-Bred)
$62 2X256MB Kingston PC2700

The nForce 2 board will give you unmatched performance from any other AMD chipset. The T-Bred 2100 will easily overclock to speeds of a 2700-3000 with a little effort. The Epox board is such an awsome overclocker it should be no problem. Get the dual sticks of DDR so you can use a Dual DDR setup. it will also allow WinXP to run 10x faster than using just 256MB.

WEAKNESSES:
not much, but right off the bat, fan holes for case cooling are way too small and restrict airflow (check my pics). Front USB/SOUND is pretty 'cheap' Not labelled and the door feels like its gonna break off with each press.

sharp edges and generic power supply

Ugly too

Get one of the Antecs very good design and hides opticals and floppy. Comes in array of colors and I do thin they have window option .

I know that but they are still cheap components compared to the stuff you were talking about. The "higher end" Gigabyte mobos cost around $120 USD. I gave you an nForce 2 suggestion for $88 USD. As for RAM, it's so damn cheap right now, there's no reason not to get 512MB. I'm sure you can find a little more money somewhere. Your going to save some by getting the XP 2100 over the XP 2200.

hmmm ya i am getting 2 256 sticks of ram... umm and about the processors, where i am getting mine the 2100 doesnt come with fan and the 2200 did so I saved myself a few bucks doing it that way... ahh a mod can close this thread or whatever i found a case

From what I've read, one stick of 512Mb runs better than 2 sticks of 256Mb when compared side-by-side. That's why I went with the 512Mb stick for my first purchase (well, second if you don't count the case).
Also, you might have saved some dough on the 2200+ at the expense of overclockability when compared to the 2100+ AIUHB.
So what case did you choose?

its not official yet because i still have a few days ebfore my parts come in, but i think Im gonna build my own Plexy glass case. What I plan on doing is taking out the motherboard wall, and the bays where the cdrom/floppy/hd site and put them inside a plexy glass box that looks like a tower. Or I might just strip my tower down (take off all sides) and than just add plexy glass for the panels... it would be different and the best thing about it would be if I wanted to add a fan or two I could drill new holes

doesn't stuff cost the same in canada cause ur dollars are worth less or something liek that? And does PC2700 make a difference over PC2100?

consilium is a Brit, so "English and American" really was the correct useage. LOL. Unfortunately his advice is no good since you are in Canada. Time to pack up and move to the good ole USA! lol

Speak for yourself Comp......mine's just original. Calvin's imagination is a thing to behold, and that's what runs the tech sector anyhow.
