Hmm wonder if it would be faster if i kept my cpu over clocked

Polykranopalous
06-15-04, 02:26 PM

BionicRedneck

Polykranopalous

meh than dont bother if it would only be 1 day

GNXtreme
06-15-04, 02:26 PM
Yeah, again I hate to agree with poly....just wait for the barton.

BionicRedneck

it's not so much that overclocking a cpu reduces it's life it's more has to do with the higher temps that are accompanied. I read somewhere that cpu's are disigned to last 10 year so if I get 30% of that I happy.

3 yrs on a CPU would be great...I usually upgrade long before it dies...

<< Yeah, again I hate to agree with poly >>

its a risky move there, but im glad you agreed!

I usually average about 3-6 month in between cpu purchases.

I had just replace my palamino with a tbred both 1800+'s about a month ago what was nice was after selling my palamino the tbred only cost me $12 difference. In another week or 2 I want to get another tbred eithier a 1700+ or 2100+. all I need is a nic, psu, cpu and I could get another computer folding. My goal is to be able to get 1000 pts a week.

TheEqualizer

Bionic, where did you sell your Palomino? eBay? If I knew I could get decent prices for older parts, I would upgrade more. Generally I get a new computer every year. But by then the parts are so old, they arent worth much.

BionicRedneck

nope I sold it locally but ebay is a good place to sell your old parts.
