View Full Version : Detonator 50.00 Driver leaked, found, and tested...
Hey Guys, a friend of mine just got me a 'very' early leak of the Nvidia detonator 50.00 driver, but I am not going to release much information on it at this time, you'll have to wait for my full review on 'Tha Utakian Athlon XP 2400+ Gaming Rig' I am currently benchmarking. This is all I will release for now, below is my systems stock score 'after' upgrading from the detonator 43.30 driver (with the 43.30 my stock score was about 11500 3D Marks):

12362 3D Marks!

EDIT: My 40GB Maxtor H.d.d. is having a few issues, and I'm going to have to backup all my data and format 'again'...sigh....I hope that 80GB Western Digital 8MB Cache 7200RPM H.d.d. comes in soon!
Yo Utaks, how do you get so many leaks?
And also, why go from det 40's to 50's? Doesn't make much sense to me, especially with the FX so close on the horizon. Oh well.

Nice increase, although I don't like 2400+ for overclocking at all. even the newer ones don't seem to perform up to par.

It makes no sense, because it is wrong. They would still be Detonator 4X.XXX drives. I'm sure the 50.XXX drivers would be reserved for a new card (FX as previously pointed out). If you sincerely got drivers that say 50.XXX then you got some bogous drivers. The GeForce 4 drivers are already extremely mature. For you to be getting an increase like that is has to be doing other things to your system....turning down image quality, overlclocking in some way. They whole thing seems odd to me.
Utaks awesome work on getting the leaks... I love beta drivers myself, if I could get the I would! Very nice increase you got there!

Guys guys, go easy on Utaks! He's jsut keeping us informed about the new drivers! Whatever nVIDIA does is not his fault!

As for where the performance came from, it's difficult to say. It's possible nVIDIA could have just written better drivers! When they're available to the public we'll tear through them but for now leave the guy alone!
Yeah I couldn't understand how I got such a huge increase with these drivers. It suprised myself Alot!! But with my main h.d.d. in the state its in I'll have to wait till my 80GB Western Digital H.d.d. comes in until i can run a few more tests, since I'm on dail up (16.8Kbps dont laugh ) I ain't going to redownload sandra, 3D Mark 03 or any of my other tests. I can access my files of my 40GB but I can't copy 30GB of files to a 4GB h.d.d. LOL Now that is impossible!!! I will have the review finished for my 2400+ Gaming Rig and a little more Info. on these drivers then along with more benchmarks with the drivers!
AHH! Dialup must suck man you have my condolences...

Take your time, can't wait to see your results!
