I have a few questions seeing as I can play with the 8RDA+ now, I did this with memory running in sync. Right now I have the processor at 2700+ 166FSB x 13, and the memory at 120% or 200FSB. Is that giving me better performance? I haven't ghad a chance to run sandra or anything yet, but I plan on doing that Thursday and re benchmarking 3dMark01 to post my scores for PCStats 3dMark team

running it in sync should yield a better performance. running it asynchronized will only give you better score in memory benchmarking and not in realworld application including 3dmark, since memory will be running a different paste than the rest of the buses, you might even get performance decrease. in another words... always run it "in sync".

I'll change that back then

VERY NICE SIR!

I'm sorry about my late reply but very nice!!! 10k with a Radeon 8500 is awesome.

zaltec, Howard BAM! is correct, running in sync produces better overall scores because the latency is lower.

Sorry about MY late reply
I am getting round to doing some more tweaking...been a little busy lately. I am going to order 256 megs of Corsair XMS3500LL today, and then the 1gb of TwinX3200LL later on this month See if that 256 meg module XMS3500LL gives me a higher score.

3728 3dMarks for upgrading to a Ti4600? Hmmm, I suddenly wonder. Have you overclocked that at all Howard BAM!? Seems too low to me, but your 1700+ will improve that.

BAM!
06-15-04, 02:26 PM
what you talking about Zal!!!.. i've always had this ti4600. my previous g4MX440 had a core of around 6000.

Well, it's GeIL and it's at 2.9Vdimm I think the WD hdd doesn't like the 180FSB, it loads into windows and goes black Just a black screen and all hdd activity stops.
I'll be getting the 1700+ NF7-S ver2.0 and 256mbs of PC3500LLPT COrsair XMS. Hopefully that will give me higher clocks!

Colin
06-15-04, 02:26 PM
Oh that's a shame... I find that GeIL does like high voltages as well.

I hope you have the same luck as I do with Corsair... I have not tested anything that runs faster then my trusty XMS3500 CAS2!

I think that maybe my HDD doesn't like high FSB
Oh yeah, it's one dimm of ver1.1 256mbs Corsair XMS3500LLPT.

zaltec you're using the 8RDA+ right? Hmm, some nForce2 based boards are having problems with the low latency Corsair memory. I have spoken to my Corsair contact about that already and he said it's a bios issue and that Epox is working on it.

Did you try the beta BIOS roy pointed out? Perhaps that would help.

06-15-04, 02:26 PM
No I haven't...
I'll try that now, first to find info on what to do

zaltec just put the .bin file onto your floppy and when your system starts up, press ALT+F2 and follow the instructions.

i love those built-in bios flash features... makes it so easy for you to flash bios without breaking a sweat

Flashed BIOS, now I have no internet connection and the PC reboots spontaneously in 3d Apps. But I did get like 10786 3dMarks, which I will upload to Futuremark once I flash the BIOS with a newer version that promises to fix NV/MAC Lan address or something tht was screwed up in the previous update

I went back to the GeIL Colin, that Corsair LL just didn't wanna play with my system That's ok tho, it'll rock in my NF7-S
Colin
06-15-04, 02:26 PM
Hmm... Well the BIOS is still beta perhaps I guess it still has a few bugs in it.

Nice, go for 11k!!! That would be great with a Radeon 8500!

My Corsair contact says that the Abit mobo's don't seem to have the problem with Corsair memory... It seems the LL stuff cannot initalize at high speeds with the 3-4-4-8 timings. At least that's the official explanation they're telling me.

If you keep everything equal between the OS's you're looking at an extra 200-300 points!

As for Prometeia, here are a bunch of resellers from their website. hold off though, Chip-Con is about to release their new Prometeia, it's suppose to be using a 300W compressor and use R404 instead of R134...
