Help with Quake!!!!!

Im not sure where I should put this. I am running the game on the high quality settings. The game starts out running at 90 fps and then it slows to 15 fps. This only happens when I play multiplayer. I then go out to the desktop and I look at the processe tab in the task manager and my CPU usage is at 100%. What could it be?<BR>

hmmm well are you playing multiplayer on the net? or with another computer? because if you are networked with another pc adn your playing the game, the game will go as fast as the slowest machine basically

This might not be the whole reason, but what kind of connectiont do you have for internet?

I have a fast connection 3000 kb/s. I got it working. I was downloading something off kazaa and it turned out the file was full of fake processes that slowed down all my games. They were all over my win NT folder but I hunted them all out and killed (deleted) them. Now it all works fine!!!<BR>There is a problem though, aunch of them were in my media folder and it deleted all my windows sounds and I cant find them on the CD

Windows sounds suck. Ditch em.

I have to go with Roy on this one, be glad the sounds are gone. In fact, just get some sounds from your favorite video game or something. I think Rainbow Six Sounds has everything that the you "need," sound wise.
