Hehehehe. I finally figured out how to get the new fans to stop moaning in my Chieftec. Turns out the whistle was coming from the very bottom of the rear exhaust and a little electrical tape stopped it. LOL! Not pretty, I know.
Do you think I should break out the dremel and cut those ugly fan guards off? Only problem then is, there is no where to mount new ones.

I say only do the cutting if your are comfortable enough with your skillz to fix anything that may go wrong. I do suggest removing the factory grills to improve airflow.

Well, I've worked with wood extensively (carving, car stereo sub boxes, shelves, etc) so I am fairly confident I can do it without cutting the case in half with one accidental swipe. Trying to figure out how to attach a fan grill after I've removed the stock one. Wouldn't want to lop off any fingers reaching around back to switch cables between my pc's now. LOL. I'm picking up a KVM switch tomorrow when I'm out running errands. Need one for fixing up other computers anyway (now I have an excuse!).

LOL. It would cost you more to have it shipped across the border than just gettting a pre-fab. I would sound a hell of a lot better, though.
Anyway, I don't live at home anymore where I can use my father's awesome shop.

You're asking the wrong person about that Comp. I prefer Alpine and Pioneer decks myself, and think those preset EQs are garbage. Can it play MP3 CDs or only WAV? I like the new models that come with a 10Gb HDD for playing MP3s.

moaning is a weird title for a thread rithem!!>.... you could've just calling it screaming or noise or something...

I guess you'd have to hear my fans. They don't scream or wail, they actually do moan. It's the strangest thing I've ever heard and it took me a couple of days to figure out where that Twilight Zone noise was coming from. The new fans push a bit more cfm than the stock ones did.
(btw, that's why my first line starts with "hehehehe." Weird, I know, but I hear it runs in my family. LOL

The hair on the back of my neck stands on end enough when playing Unreal II at 2AM without that added feature. LOL!

That reminds me....I need to load Unreal II and try it out...I have had it for about a month now and never tried it...

The graphics are amazing. I have to say this game has the best detail of any I have owned before. The story is kind of short and levels take forever to load though. Trust me, you have time to cook dinner before a level loads, even with a 2800+ and a 8Mb buffer HDD.
There's even a level (can't remember the name at the moment) where you are protecting a base while your crew repairs the ship. Take a look at the star (sun) and you'll actually see solar flares. I thought it was a fixed image at first, and then I had to look again.
I just bought Red Faction II and can't wait to get it loaded. The commercials made the graphics look incredible.

red faction II is alright. the graphic is nothing to be excited about compare to unreal II, splinter cell or gun metal. the game play is nothing more interesting than the old red faction. !!.. just my own input
