Okay, so how does this fare? Everything is at stock and I was just trying to figure out how to use the software. Should I be doing this on an HDD that has nothing else installed on it? I only scored 6037 on the first CPU score and shutdown a lot of background programs (Norton especially).

not bad mang!...
Dunno, never used PCMark! Looks good, though I expect more than 2040mhz out of it! Even with a KT400 chip!!!

It wasn't overclocked Zaltec. I was wondering though, shouldn't it read 2075MHz? BIOS is set at 12.5x and 166MHz.
Have to get yet another HSF if I decide to OC the Barton. Still no budget for a $225 chip if I burn her up.
DOH!
I'm so retarded sometimes Amsterdam is going straight to my head...
is that the JIUHB 1700+ ?.... how can you say it's not overclocked if it's 12.5x166. ??.. it sure sounds overclocked to me for a 1700+. anyways.... i have my JIUHB clocked to 2.3ghz and scores about 6900cpu and 5400 memory. even with the previous AIUHB 2100+ clocked at 2.23 i was able to 6700 cpu and 5100 memory. you should be able to achieve those value once you get your new memory or if you get your new memory and upp those FSB
rithemking nice! That's pretty good for a barton processor...

I can't wait to see your XP 1700+ benched!

I am still waiting for my HSF to arrive. Bestbyte has charged my account, but I can't track it using their order number. It's starting to piss me off, their delay in shipment. It looks like it may be another week or 2 before I can play with my JIUHB and NF7-S.
i haev a feeling both of your (and zaltec) JIUHBs are gonna do better than mine

OKAY!!!! Results are in using PCMark02 on the 1700+ JIUHB. 1st attempt at Barton speed of 2.078 yielded:
CPU-6313
Mem-5128
HDD-1015

Attempt 2 at 2.112GHz caused multiple crashes of Windows and errors on PCMark02.
Upped the voltage from stock 1.45 to 1.55 yielding:
6552
5368
1084

Attempt 3 at 2.184GHz:
6604
5404
1005 ---> why is my HDD score dropping?

That's pretty good, but what is this 'shut-eye' you are refering to? I'm not familiar with that concept. You mean you close your eyes to rest...why would you abandon your computer just to do that?

How odd...

06-15-04, 02:26 PM
LOL. Dean, it is a way to envision being able to OC this baby faster than I currently have. You know, "dreaming." LOL.
I'm not done with it yet. Any ideas on why the HDD score keeps dropping?

Save the 3D Mark and PC Mark files and upload them from your other computer.
TranceJunkieXL
06-15-04, 02:26 PM
Okay, which files do I need to transfer. All I can find are .dll files under MadOnion.

In 3D Mark 2001, after it's done all the tests, save the result. Then transfer the .3DP file to the other computer. Launch 3D Mark 2001, from the computer with the Internet connection, go to 'Online Services' on the Menu Bar and choose 'Submit Save Results'.
For PC Mark 2002 it'll be the same except the file extension will be .XML.

or you could just get the NIC working on your mobo! lol!

06-15-04, 02:26 PM
That might just be crazy enough to work.

06-15-04, 02:26 PM
LMAO! It turned out it wasn't the NIC. Some bug in WinXP networking. Nothing showed up wrong on the OCsystem, but when I plugged the HDD into my SOYO and booted it showed an unconnected bridge. ran the Wizard on the bridge and it connected and accessed the internet no problems. Now I can't get the Abit to boot though.

okay then. I've installed Win2000Pro and Rage 3DTweaker with the Barton and 9700Pro and have been able to get this. XP was only getting me 13K. As soon as I get my NF7-S back I'm gonna OC the Barton and see what it can do. Anyone have tips on scoring higher?
The 9700Pro is OC to 387.00GPU & 326.25RAM. No artifacts yet.
Nice job but my 2100 oc'ed beats ur barton at stock speeds!!! I am very happy right now!!!! Only If I could break 10k in 3Dmark

Whatever PCGeek....it's absolutely no surprise that your 2100+ running 102MHz faster scored higher than the 2800+. If it didn't I'd say there is something wrong with your set up.

I finally got my Abit back and installed the 03081700+JIUHB-DLT3C and got it up to 214FSB by 11.5x (2.461GHz). Max stable overclock here. Funny thing is, I install Win2000Pro, drop the clock to 212FSb by 11.5x (2.438GHz) and score even higher. Somehow that fixed the HDD problems I was having as well.
Try beating that score with your 2100+.

I think I may have maxed my 3DMark2001SE score with the Ti4200 at 15320. I still have a few other tweaks to try though.

Hey rithem,

I tried clicking on your links and futuremark tells me that both are not valid projects. Did you erase these projects?

BTW, congrats on your awesome overclock!!! You do me proud!

haha...pcgeek, i broke 10k in 3dmark2001 and i have a kt133 chipset (i guess its the 9500)
TranceJunkieXL
06-15-04, 02:26 PM
Yeah ElrichMeister. 3DMark is mostly video card dependant. Overclocking your system will gain a few points, while overclocking your videocard will gain a few thousand points.
