ok people a little help here i have a athlon xp 2700+ tb originally clocked at 166 x 13 = 2.16 ghz. now i have been able to obtain 208 x 11.5 = 2.42 ghz and it runs very stable and all. Now i ran 3dmark2001 and i barely see a performance differance at all. i would think that cause i upped it i would see more then a 500 point difference. i have a volcano 11 fan and like 6 - 7 case fans. my mobo temp is very cool and my cpu temp is at 55 c when overclocked and 50 when at stock speeds. when i enter a game they only go up 5 degrees at a full load for both clock speeds. id like to go higher. what would be the best thing to do to get higher now? should i keep lowering my multiplyer and uping my fsb? is there any other methods i might not be aware of? what would be a averaged reached oc speed for a 2700+? the rest of my system specs are tachyon g9700 pro 768 mb 3200 ddr. 120 gb ibm deskstar 8m cache. HELP ME PLEASE!!!

heres some more info. my memory on sandra it says i have a 2000 bandwidth. because its 3200 ddr shouldnt i have a bandwidth of 3200? also it seems like my computer is running aa on some of the game tests of 3dmark2001. i made sure that under display props its off and in the program itself that its off. when looking at the first 3 games it almost looks as tho atleast a 2x is enabled. any ideas? game 4 is the only game i notice jagged edges. thats the game my computer runs the best at 133 fps. thats one of the highest scores ive seen run. so is it possible that im on to something?

First of all, 3DMark2001 is VideoCard limited. You would need to OC your VC more to get a better increase in score.<BR>Are you sure SiSoft doesn't say 200 bandwidth and not 2000? PC3200 runs at 200MHz (400MHz as DDR calculated), so this would be more accurate. I have to admit though, I myself am still learning how to get better scores on benchmarks. Have you used PCMark2002 and compared your scores OC to stock yet? You will definitely see an improvement there. I went from 6313/5128/1015 running my 1700+ at 2.078GHz (6114/4662/542 on 2800+ stock) and improved to 7331/5983/1097 running the 1700+ at 2.400GHz (400FSB by 12x).

ok well i ran a 7200 - 5000 - 1000 on pcmark2002 the processor went up buy 600 points. however my memory stayed the same. I have a radeon 9700 pro oced to 380/ 680 thats a pretty big overclock so id figure i would get more then what i do (about 15000). in sandra it says <BR>"RAM Bandwidth Int Buff aEMMX/aSSE 2227 mb/s"<BR>"RAM Bandwidth Float Buff aEMMX/aSSE 2098 mb/s"<BR>a comparable chipset with 2700 (not 3200) is running faster at "2566 mb/s Int buff" and "2456 mb/s Float Buff".<BR>shouldnt i be beating that score since i have faster memory?<BR><BR>

Run your memory in 'Sync' mode(100% of the FSB).

well i upped my fsb from 166 to 208. when i run it at 100% it wont boot up and my computer talks to me and says "computer failed memory test"i tried to back it down to 86% and it still says the same thing

deanlowe you have a very comparable computer to mine. you run a 16900 in 3dmark 2001. i have a 2.4 ghz at 208 fsb x 11.5. i also have a radeon 9700 pro only overclocked at 380 x 680 (near 9800 speeds) and i have 768 mb of ddr 3200 with the same motherboard as you. how come i score a 15400 and you have over 1000 points on me?

I use a program call Memtest86. Or it could just be that your board can't handle such a high FSB.<BR><BR><br><br><< <i>what is a 9800 pro driver hack?</i> >><br><br><BR><BR>It's a hacked driver I found on the net.<BR>
