I just bought and installed a Matrix Orbital 20 x 2 LCD mod from Jab-tech.com on my rig and I love it!!! The white text on blue background looks crisp and clean, and it even comes with a brushed aluminum face plate to match my Cooler Master case. It's a quality product. I'm quite impressed with the LCDC (proprietary shareware) program that comes bundled with it to drive the LCD display. It not only allows you to configure it to display many different types of information about my computer (bootup screen, cpu info, voltages, fan speed, hard disk space, etc.), LCDC has plug-ins to make it work with Winamp 2 and 3 to display track information. It will even display the spectrum analyzer. In addition, if you hook up LEDs to the prongs in the back of the LCD display, LCDC will activate the LEDs based on specified computer events such as email received, internet connection failure, etc. It's well-done with comprehensive capabilities. I've been itching to get one for years, and now that I have it, it really adds some coolness to my modified rig.

Anyone else got LCD displays?

Nice display but ouch on the pocketbook. Though I do have one empty slot in my Barton system for a 5.25 device......hmmmm, new car or pretty computer.

Those really are nice, and I wish I could afford one. I've been looking at 5 1/2 LCD's for quite some time and just can't justify the price.

Well, every time I looked at one with envy, I laid aside a buck. After a whole lot of doing that, I could afford it, lol!!!

Yeah, it's on the pricey side, but man, I'm really enjoying it!

I know what you guys mean, lol!!! But then that's why some of these mod projects take years, right? You add little by little, and before you know it, you've got a pretty nice rig. My next mod project is replacing my switches. Currently, I have a rocker switch to control my blue CCFL light inside my case, but I recently added a red one as well. It comes with its own rocker switch, but I want to get a pair of really nice stainless steel pushbutton switches for both lights. Does anybody know where I can find a pair of them?

I also found some websites that let you download new plug-ins for my MO LCD and even different fonts and special character sets. I've been having a lot of fun personalizing the display. LCDC is definitely the best LCD driver program out there. It's very robust.
