<< i actually got them from my electronics teacher. He has connections so i'm getting them for like a buck american each. They are the ultra brights so its not a bad price >>

Damn! I was looking for someplace online. I have found them online for $1 each, but they cost almost $7 to ship. Screw that. I'll have to get off my lazy @ss and go to some of the local electronic shops.
Hey everyone right now i'm workingon my first mods

the first thing i'm doing is putting a window in my case myself. I used a jigsaw to cut the hole and a metal file to finish if off. It look decent and i'll see if i can get my digi cam working to post pics

i have the plexi glass and i will be putting that in soon, but first comes paint. I'm painting my case blue at the moment, just finished putting second coat of primer on and while on the painting subject i'm also doing my keyboard. Its a microsoft internet keyboard and i'm painting that red. It all looks pretty sweet so far, i'll post pics when its all finished

any other suggestions fore some decently simple mods? o i also changed the LED's on my keyboard and mouse, now they are all blue to match the case

excacly how do you paint a keyboard. Ive taken mine appart to clean it b4 (actually wash it with soap and water lmao its 5 yrs old compaq keyboard) but would the keys get stuck in place if you paint?
also a cool mod i know of is etching, you etch a drawing onto pexiglass and if you put a led tube on the edge of the pexiglass and cover it so it only shines directly on the edge of the pexiglass only the etching will lite up and the rest of the window will remain clear.
ok, painting your keyboard is fairly simple. I'm not to sure how your keyboard works, but ihave a microsoft internet keyboard. And you unscrew it, then all the keys are stuck to the faceplate, so i had to pop all the keys out (yours might just have a face plate, i'm not sure). Then you sand it down decently and wash it with windew. Make sure youg et rid of all the dirt and paint you sanded off. Then just do 3-4 layors of paint, and then you can do a clear coat if you want

and thats it, then put it back together and your done
thnx. my keyboard is all one big plate and im not sure if the keys pop out. I might get a new one anyways so ill get a microsoft keyboard and then paint it

Krylon has just released a paint that bonds to plastic without primer or all that sanding. You might give that a look.
whats that paint called? and can you buy it at most hardware stores?
That would take all the fun and the pride away you would get from telling others you did all that hard work

LMAO PCGeek14! Yeah, why don't you just make your own paint and tell everyone you did it all from scratch? LOL!
Cloggs, the new paint is called Fusion, but I am not sure if it is available yet. I'd think that now it is being advertised you should be able to find it at any decent hardware store.
ok thanks

and you see i've already done all the hard work on one keyboard, now i can do it the cheaters way the second time
